Policy & Research

Agenda setting, relevant and evidence-based policy and research is critical to ensure that public debate and government policy best meet national infrastructure objectives.

Infrastructure Partnerships Australia is committed to the delivery and articulation of landmark policy enabling Australia’s governments and industry to work together to identify, finance and deliver the assets and services that will sustain economic prosperity and our standard of living.

Infrastructure Partnerships Australia conducts independent research to:

• Better understand and articulate the key policies and projects fundamental to the development of key infrastructure;
• Improve and accelerate decision making, ensuring timely delivery of world-class infrastructure; and
• Ensure the fulsome engagement of stakeholders, governments and the community in finding solutions to Australia’s infrastructure challenges.

Policy Taskforces

Infrastructure Partnerships Australia convenes Member Policy Taskforces across a range of sectors. By harnessing the deep, sectoral expertise and the resources of our Membership, we ensure that our policy addresses the key impediments to the delivery of the best value, best quality infrastructure. Our policy Taskforces bring together the nation’s most senior business leaders, policy makers and regulators to:

• Facilitate strong engagement between key government ministers, regulators and Australia’s leading industry practitioners to deliver better policy and project outcomes;
• Develop a strong, clear minded and integrated national infrastructure agenda, with a strong focus on the national interest; and
• Provide leadership in the use of innovative financing and delivery models to improve outcomes for governments, taxpayers and consumers.
