Mr Peter Hicks

Biography

As Executive General Manager, Finance and Administration Peter Hicks is responsible for the equity investment and operations and maintenance of Leighton Contractors key infrastructure projects. Peter has over 20 years experience in managing, developing and operating infrastructure in Australia. He is a former Board member of the Australian Council for Infrastructure Development and a current Board member of RiverCity Motorway, Cross City Tunnel, Praeco (Defence HQJOC) and several not for profit Boards.

Peter led two winning proposals for Brisbane’s CLEM7 Tunnel (North-South Bypass Tunnel) and Defence HQJOC. Peter also played a key role in the Aspire Schools consortium being awarded the Queensland Government’s landmark South East Queensland PPP Schools Project; as well as the successful acquisition of Sydney’s Cross City Tunnel.

Prior to joining Leighton, Peter held a number of senior management roles with the NSW government including head of surplus Government Lands Rezoning Unit, lead negotiator Penrith Lakes Scheme, General Manager NSW Rail Assets, General Manager NSW Rail Operations and Group General Manager Freight.

Peter is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of thePlanning Institute of Australia and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Peter is a very experienced manager of Special Purpose Vehicle companies established to develop, operate and maintain infrastructure assets.
