Mr John Tabart

Biography

John Tabart is the Chief Executive Officer of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, the NSW Government body established to oversee the $4 billion redevelopment of the 22-hectare city site on Sydney Harbour’s foreshore.

Previously, John was the Managing Director of Explore Capital Ltd, the London-based UK development and investment subsidiary of Laing O’Rourke Plc and non-executive Director of Sama Dubai LLC in Dubai, the international real estate development and investment subsidiary of Dubai Holdings.

From 1995-2006 John was CEO of the Docklands Authority and VicUrban, the Victorian State Government’s sustainable development arm, which included the $16 billion, 200-hectare Melbourne Docklands. Also previously Development Director of Brisbane International Airport, CEO of Mirage Resorts in Australia and the USA and Managing Director of Lend Lease Residential Pty Ltd.

John holds a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Tasmania and is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Engineers and the Australian Institute of Public Administration.
