Dr Kerry Schott

Biography

Kerry Schott is currently the CEO for NSW Commission of Audit. Kerry has recently retired from her role at Sydney Water, where she was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from 2006 to 2011. Kerry was a non-executive director of the Sydney Water Board from 1997 to 2001. Kerry is a member of the following Boards; Infrastructure Australia Board, Whitlam Institute and State Contracts Control Board. Kerry was previously Deputy Secretary, NSW Treasury, Office of Infrastructure Management.

Kerry spent 15 years as an investment banker, including as Managing Director of Deutsche Bank and Executive Vice President of Bankers Trust Australia. Kerry has worked as an economic policy adviser with the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Commonwealth Government and as an academic at University College London and at Oxford University.

Kerry holds a doctorate from Oxford University (Nuffield College), a Masters of Arts from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver and a Bachelor of Arts (first class Honours) from the University of New England.  Kerry has taught at the University College London, Oxford University and has been a visiting Professor at Princeton University.

Kerry has been Chairman of the Water Services Association of Australia, NSW Environment Protection Authority and the NSW Film and Television Office. Kerry has also been a director of the Film Finance Corporation Limited and Australian Airlines Limited. Kerry was a member of the Corporations and Securities Panel and a Trade Practices Commissioner.
